A few thoughts before you set into playing.1) Command and Conquer through Commander & Conquer Red Alert The Aftermath have inverted the mouse click scheme from what is standard today. There are also no build queues in Command and Conquer. Not surprising, since the game is almost 20 years old (wow, really?)2) Command and Conquer Renegade is an FPS and Westwood's first attempt at making one.

It is fun, but it is not perfect. I personally enjoyed the Multiplayer on that one since you can drive vehicles in it.3) Command and Conquer Generals is a different game than the others. The atmosphere is more realistic and less campy/esoteric than the other games.

Whereas in Red Alert 2 you have shock (literally) troopers and chrono legionnaires, in Generals you have somewhat more realistic units. That being said, I think Generals is a lot fun and the three factions are different enough from each other to offer plenty of variety.4) C&C 3 is a very fun game. I think you guys will have the most fun with this one as well as Generals.5) RA 3.

I personally did not like. They went way too over the top and cartoonish for me. RA2 is the best of the series in my personal opinion, but RA 3 does have some fun moments.

You just have to get used some really weird units and animations.6) I have not played C&C 4, but I heard it pretty much stunk.7) Red Alert 2! I forgot to mention this one.

This is one of my favorites. It is a bit campy and silly, but that is part of its charm. It's alternate history in which Germany did not rise to be a major power for WW 2.

Russia attempted to conquer the world, instead. The campaign is as fun as the multiplayer in my opinion. It's neat to play out with the variety of units found in the game, such as the Allies' Prism Tank and Russian's Apocalypse tank.Still.

You are getting a lot of games for 8.50. I would do it, even if only for Generals and C&C 3.Edit: wording and a comment about RA 2. Years back I purchased the first decade(all C&C till generals:zero hour) for 30 euro, and back then I thought it was worth it, and I still come back to playing C&C generals and RA2 sometimes. So for 8,50 I would buy it, if I wouldn't already have it.I think it can be great to play against some friends with generals, only with some agreed rules though, like no rushing/atacking for a certain period(much more challening to break open a fuly established defense line). Once played a game as GLA stealth general against a friend playing as USA superweapon general, I seized 3/4 of the map without him realising it, and when he finally went for the first strike with around 100 fighters/bombers, none of them even made it halfway their target(their target was my only visible base on the map, wich was completely constructed of fake buildings)p.s.

Also check out the shockwave mod for generals, I recommend waiting with installing it untill generals starts feeling old/too fammiliar(it adds some new generals and units).
